Cheese-and-bacon waffles


Ingredients

2 Eggs
2 cup All-purpose* or whole wheat
-Flour
1/2 cup Vegetable oil or margarine
-Or butter, melted
1 3/4 cup Milk
1 tbsp Granulated or
-Brown sugar
4 tsp Baking powder
1 cup Shredded sharp cheese (4
-Ounces)
8 slice Bacon, crisply cooked, and
-Crumbled


Directions
  1. *if using self-rising flour omit baking powder.
  2. Waffle irons come in many shapes and sizes, and this batter works well.
  3. Heat waffle iron.
  4. Beat eggs with hand beater in medium bowl until fluffy.
  5. Beat in flour, oil, milk, brown sugar and baking powder just until smooth.
  6. Stir in cheese and bacon.
  7. Pour batter from cup or pitcher onto center of hot waffle iron.
  8. Bake about 5 minutes or until steaming stops.
  9. Remove waffle carefully.
  10. Twelve 4-inch waffle squares (three 9-inch waffles); 265 calories per square
